The world is full of pathways and the choices are numberless. There are some that seem attractive and desirable but eventually lead to darkness and despair. Other pathways can draw us into a comfortable existence but then our progress stops. There are the tempting choices that appeal to our physical desires that can bring personal hardships, destroying families and individuals. All is not lost. He who loves us most is there to light our path through the darkness. He can be our personal guide as we seek to find peace in this troubled world. Fear not, for His pathways are straight and His light an eternal beacon of hope. He offers a peace that will surpass all understanding. No matter how desperate, lost, alone or afraid you may feel, Our Savior Jesus Christ is there to help. All you need to do is ask.

Crumbling Paths

To reach the ultimate finish line we have to take the journey. Life’s progress is full of pathways... traveling, choosing, seeking but sometimes not finding what we had hoped for or expected. Then we look elsewhere. The world offers free advice, just “google it” and you are pulled into an information “mother lode”.

The world has an answer for everything but that doesn’t make it the best choice. Sometimes what the world presents seems logical and appealing, easier than the straight and narrow.  “Besides, I can’t get it right and I keep stumbling and falling." Who cares anyway?” (I was one of those) The world’s paths eventually crumble in our wake and we can become lost over and over again.
"Who cares anyway." That one thought,  planted in the hearts of men, has led to the loss of many souls. If we are thinking on that level then we have forgotten the Lords promise… “I will never fail thee nor forsake thee.”

But it is not too late. The teaching and traditions of our founding fathers was based in Christian principles.   Faith in Jesus Christ was a strength that gave men courage, belief, direction and purpose.  The world is working overtime to destroy that faith. What the world fails to recognize is that enduring strength and power come only in and through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You can do a lot of stumbling in 60 years. But as Paul H Dunn wrote, “Success doesn’t come in never falling, but rising every time you fall.”  I know that to be true. But when you stumble, reach for the Lord’s hand and He can pull you higher than you have ever been before.

Pathway to M.O.R.E.

Often we seek for more. More time, more money, more friends, more laughter, more things, more adventures, more fun, more happiness, more joy, more love…

We achieve a goal but all too soon it seems insufficient and we want more.  So we work harder, play harder, love deeper and keep reaching for the elusive more. It seems we just can’t get enough of more.

In my six decades of earth life I have seen more in many different perspectives. From a young sweet child who always wanted more attention to a teenager who longed for more friends.  A young adult who needed more understanding to deal with the changing world and a newlywed desiring more love and tenderness.  There was the mother of eight who wished she had more time for everything, even just a few quiet moments!

Life was not easy, living with a broken heart and shattered dreams over and over again I yearned for more.  Slowly, gradually, I began to see M.O.R.E. in a different light… M for Moments of learning to appreciate the time we have.  O for Opportunities that are available with change. R for Reactions, as we each have a choice. E for Endeavor, pushing onward even when it’s hard.

The years have flown bye. There were some that I soared on the wings of eagles yet others I was grounded with the missing feathers of unexpected change. Living alone has given more time to look deeper inside. Thus my understanding of M.O.R.E. has been modified once again. M became the Magic you make with the moments. Opportunities changed to Offering more help to others. Reactions moved to Reason as I follow the promptings of the spirit.  Endeavor is still part of the plan, but I Embrace the challenges, growing in knowledge and understanding. I have indeed learned a lot more.

Wanting and reaching for more of the right things, like those that brings us closer to Heavenly Father, are within our grasp. Sometimes we feel lacking, but with sincere prayers we can receive more help from the Lord. His love and concern are limitless. However, more time, effort, and dedication may be needed. With the Lords help impossible dreams can become reality.

What M.O.R.E. need we seek?

Path to Forgiveness

Each of our personal journeys is different as we seek forgiveness from human errors and peace in our hearts once again. Everyone’s experience is different but the pathway leading to the road of repentance requires the same journey. When our hearts are ready, there is a longing for the joy we have lost. When it develops into a hunger our souls cry out.  We understand there are errors in our ways. We have stumbled and fallen but to stand tall and straight we need divine help. Humbly we seek out the Lord in prayer. We have pondered and repented and feel ready. We seek solitude, where no earthly influence will be allowed to disturb our communications. We express our appreciation for the blessings in our lives. Then we pour out our heart unto the Lord expressing remorse and regret, asking for strength to let go that which is harmful to us, for forgiveness of our errors as we seek to travel the strait and narrow path that will lead us home. Everyone’s journey back requires faith, courage and belief in self. The greatest of which is faith.  There was a strong prophet in ancient times who was out hunting, intending to bring food home to his family. While alone in the wilderness the teachings of his father came into his heart and he desired again the joys he once felt, to have peace unto his soul. Mighty prayers were offered as he communed with heaven and even when darkness came he prayed on. Finally, after much prayer the Lord told him his sins were forgive. When he asked how it was done he was answered, “Thy faith has made thee whole." I hope each of us will hold tight to our faith and in so doing allow the gift of the atonement to heal our souls.

Pathways & Choices

When you look at the picture at the top of this blog, what does it bring to mind?

For me if represents my journey through life, the options are many but the results greatly vary...

What direction will I take?
What is my reasoning?
What light am I choosing to follow?
What is around the bend?
Where will these paths ultimately take me?
Are the lights a solid strength or the glitzy invitations of the world?

Questions and more questions how can I ever know what is right?

The struggle to make important decisions effects all of us and sometimes we waiver, because we are unsure. But we are not alone. The Lord Jesus Christ has brought the world the gift of Holy Ghost. When our hearts are open and our minds prayerful the Holy Ghost can guide and direct our paths as we listen with spiritual ears. A wise prophet once taught …”And by the power of the Holy Ghost you may know the truth of all things.” A rich resource to guide our indecision.

There comes a time in life when silence is NOT golden…

The decades have past, seasons flashing by in a mere instant. I’ve feel catapulted forward into foreign lands, or so it seems.

Gone are the days when businesses were closed on Sundays and most folks went to church. Where we learned the teachings of Jesus Christ, love your neighbor, be kind to those that despitefully use you, forgive others, to love God, to keep the commandments.  These simple acts have great power to change individuals, groups and nations. The United States of America was founded on these Christian principles, but evil has flooded our country.

Good is often talked about as if evil and evil is promoted as good. It has polluted the world, masked as the pride, selfishness, and greed that surges in the hearts of men.

I am but one small voice but I can remain silent no longer!  I will live what I believe.  “I will not go quietly into the night. I will not vanish without a fight. I will live on. I will survive. I will celebrate the Millennium Day!”
